Hi. I'm Hilary Pfeifer.
You might know me from my public art projects around the Pacific Northwest, my sculptural works and installations featured in American Craft Magazine or Oregon Art Beat, or my business making adorable critters from salvaged wood called Bunny with a Toolbelt.
Making angels is another way I like to work with reclaimed materials that dates back to the late 90's when I was a student at Oregon College of Art and Craft. I was getting my degree in metalsmithing and had access to an amazing metal recycling center where I could buy all kinds of scraps before they made their way to the refinery. Using simple tools like shears and a pop riveter, the angels became a hit at the OCAC holiday sales. Now, I ONLY make them when I have time and sell them at a few in-person events in the Portland area. With my starving artist years behind me, a portion of proceeds go to local charities that help underserved communities in the Portland area.
